Dear Church family,
We have wonderful news!
This Sunday Church will be opening to 30 people (of unknown vaccination status) at our 10am and 4.30pm Sinhala services. To manage the numbers, we are going to ask you to register with us. As the numbers are low, please only register if you are coming. If we cannot accommodate your request this week, we will do so the following week. Please be patient with us.
We wanted to share with you three scriptural principles that lead to our decision to not restrict gathering based on individual choice:
- The bible tells us we should gather and worship. The process of registering and managing the registration may not be easy, but we should not sacrifice unity on the altar of comfort.
Do not neglect meeting together as some are in the habit of doing (Hebrews 10:25)
- There is a narrative in the world seeking to divide people based on their choice. The choice of whether a person is vaccinated or not should not be a mater the church divides on. It is a matter of conscience (Romans 14).
There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28)
- We will take reasonable care, wear a mask, and social distance to ensure the safety of our brothers and sisters.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves (Philippians 2:3)
