We want to share a journey of faith, perseverance, and God's continued provision in our lives. As we reflect on the past years, we have witnessed His hand guiding and strengthening us, even in the face of challenges.
In 2018, we arrived in Australia full of hope and looking forward to a new life. It was a time of both joy and sorrow, as Milinda's father passed away a year before we moved here. Milinda trusted God for his father's healing, but his passing led to a time of spiritual questioning and exploration of different faiths. However, God’s grace led us back to church, and we began to experience healing in our hearts as we journeyed together in faith.
Milinda found work at a cabinet-making factory in Dandenong, and though the job was rewarding, he began to experience health struggles in 2020. Despite this, we found comfort and strength in becoming part of the church family by the end of 2020. In April 2023, we both took a step of faith and were baptized, and we were blessed to see Milinda securing jobs and providing for our family.
Unfortunately, in March 2024, we faced unexpected financial hardships that forced us to move from our rental home. Despite these challenges, we continued to plan for Milinda’s permanent residency (PR) through his work as a cabinet maker. However, the factory was sold, and issues began to arise at work causing significant stress in the family.
In December 2024, Milinda’s Temporary Resident (TR) visa was set to expire. The company had assured us they would sponsor Milinda’s visa before it expired, but complications arose, and we learned that they would no longer sponsor him. At the same time, Milinda faced continuous difficulties and challenges at work, which added to the tension and pressure we were already under. However, God was faithful, and through much prayer and by His grace, Milinda was able to not only pass the IELTS /PTE test he failed
few times with every band above 6.5 but he was able to resolve the situation with the company and received the necessary documents to submit his visa application.
In the midst of this turmoil, our church Connect Group prayed for us. It was a powerful time of In the meantime, I was offered a traineeship in Adelaide, which I began this week. The Lord has been faithful, and we believe He is opening doors for us.
Now, we wait with hope as our migration lawyer has lodged our visa application, and Milinda has been scheduled for a skills assessment in April 2025. We trust that God’s plans for our future are greater than our own, and we believe that He will provide a favourable outcome as He has shown His faithfulness to us time and time again.
We are trusting in God’s faithfulness and eagerly look forward to what He will do in the coming months.
