Throughout my life, I have always had a strong faith, from my childhood to my teenage years and beyond. I have witnessed the blessings and guidance of Jesus at every turn. Moving to Australia was a dream come true, a journey many desire but few achieve. Within a week of arriving from South India, I was blessed with a job as a registered nurse without any issues and received my permanent residency shortly after applying for it.
However, life took unexpected turns after I got married. Just a month after our wedding, I was diagnosed with fibroids in my uterus and told that conceiving would be difficult. Despite the challenges, I prayed with unwavering faith during the Christmas season and, miraculously, I conceived in December and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. My journey didn't end there, though. I endured six years of family violence, and there were times I felt I couldn’t go on due to the bruises, cuts, back injuries, and feelings of worthlessness. But Jesus gave me the strength to leave, not wanting my daughter to grow up thinking that violence against women was ever acceptable.
God’s provision and strength carried me through those dark days, transforming me from a vulnerable woman dependent on my husband into a strong, independent individual. Unexpected support came from people I least expected, and I even got promoted at work. Despite the emotional and financial hardships, Jesus never left me. He guided me through a difficult financial period without debt, helped me survive the trauma, panic attacks, and divorce, and gave me a beautiful carer who cared for my daughter like her own until she turned 12. In my role as a family violence support worker now, I’m able to help guide and support other women, just as Jesus had supported me.
In 2021, health challenges also came my way, including severe pancreatitis and secondary complications. I prayed for strength to endure, and with God's help, I survived. In 2024, I faced another health battle when appendicitis turned out to be cancer. Thankfully, it was caught early, and the doctors were able to remove it completely. Through it all, I was blessed with a work position that allowed me to manage my health without additional stress.
Today, I am grateful for my life: a beautiful, kind teenager who often says she loves me more than I love her, a roof over our heads, a fulfilling job as a Clinical Services Manager, and a peaceful, abundant life in faith. This is my testimony—of how Jesus has been my strength, my healer, and my provider.
